Structured Cabling Installation At large Warehouse Germany

This installation consisted of approximately 420 meters of Cat6 from 6 racks covering Access points, CCTV, and heat sensors. Over 70,000sqm of floor space with a ceiling height up to 16 meters.

Provision of all scope of works, floor plans, lifters, and all equipment and manpower.

Challenge

The client had a firm Completion date. with a continually changing time schedule. Client requirements included:

• The installation had to be completed within a 2-week period
• All cabling needed to be in heat-resistant trunking
• Everything had to be online no later than day 14.

Interior design elements presented a challenge for cable routing. Constant changes to the scope of work on a daily basis, due to the company needing to re-align due movement of some of the equipment being installed by another vendor being incorrect. We were also asked to do all the rack and stack for the project due to the lack of available manpower from the client’s network team in Canada.

Solution

Gentium used existing columns to route cabling around the work areas. Toward the end of the project, gentium worked around the clock to meet the client’s tight schedule. Working closely with the end client and making sure that both daily reports and photographs were sent to the project team-time delays were kept to a minimum.

Results

The client was very pleased with Gentium’s performance and ability to meet tight time constraints. The final product met their goals. And the client also sent photographs of our work to other suppliers in different countries to say this is the standard expected.
